For newer users or experienced marketers wanting to create a quick template based on a specific archetype, DirectIQ has a selection of Basic templates that can be used with our drag and drop editor to quickly and easily create a template for the most common email marketing categories: Promo, Newsletter, and E-Commerce. To create outside of those categories, Basic and Simple templates are also included.

  1. Under the Email Templates tab, go to the Create a Template page and select the Basic tab.
  2. Select one of the following basic template types:

The selected template type will appear in the DirectIQ drag and drop editor. Use the color, layout, and content options to create and make changes, and save the updated template for it to appear in your My Templates library. See also Managing Your Active Templates.

Blank Template

Opens the editor with a all-white message area in the Template pane. You can start with the full range of color options, layouts, and content blocks to create an email template suited to your campaign.

Simple Template

Providing a 3-panel layout as a foundation, the simple template is broken down by:

  • Top Row: An image block on top for the company logo or leading image
  • Center Row: A text block for the primary content.
  • Bottom Row: A social media block for the footer of your template.
