To make your emails look more personalized, you can use the Dynamic Tags when editing your template in a Friendly Editor. Use these tags to include dynamic content, the content that changes based on information stored within DirectIQ database.

Please note that you should have the corresponding fields filled in your contact lists for the personalization to work properly (i.e. Email, First Name, Last Name, etc.)

All you need to do is to follow these few easy steps to make your campaigns feel more human:

  1. Go to My templates -> Click Edit next to the template you would like to personalize.
  2. Select Dynamic Tags option in Friendly editor.

    3. Choose one of the tags from the list to personalize your template and click Save.

    4. Now if to send a campaign with this template your emails will look more                          personalized and human.

Dynamic tags in the new Drag&Drop editor

If you're using our new Drag&Drop editor, you should click the text box on the left and a new tab will pop-up. Navigate Merge Tabs option in the bottom left corner of the tab.

Click it and choose the tag you'd like to use.

Once done, it will be pasted into your text box.

It is also possible to add the tags to the subject line of your campaign. The tags and their meanings are the following:

%%email%% - Email Address;
%%firstname%% - First Name;
%%lastname%% - Last Name;
%%gender%% - Gender;
%%city%% - City;
%%birthdate%% - Birthdate;

%%previewlink%% - View On Web;
%%Unsubscribe%% - Unsubscribe Link;
%%unsolicitedlink%% - Report Unsolicited;
%%forwardlink%% - Forward to a Friend;
%%update%% - Update Link;
%%campaignID%% - Campaign ID.

In addition, we have a good how-to video that will show you the process in details.
